The drawers building
“Films on Shikunim” is a festival organized in the city of Be’er Sheva, where films are projected on buildings.
As part of Art direction course, we collaborated with the festival organizers
to create short videos about different Shikunim in Be’er Sheva.
My partner, Nicole Shimshilashvili, and I chose to talk about the “Drawers Building”,
because of its unique and intriguing shape.
We visited the site, photographed the building, and from its distinctive forms we chose to tell its story in motion.
From that point, we split the work between us,
My partner directed the different parts of the video and collected information about the building,
And I worked on the video editing and animation.
We decided to work with a mixed media technique—combining photography
with graphic elements that “paint” the building and use its shape to highlight and
emphasize its character and uniqueness.

In this project, we used After Effects for the animations and video editing
and Photoshop for photo editing and retouching
